And here’s why.

Dear you,

2024 is going to be a good year, and here’s why.

It has been officially one month (three weeks, actually) since the start of the year. Congratulations, you’ve made it this far!

You were probably thinking, this was the year, your year, to get that job, to go abroad, or maybe some plan you have been preparing for a long time, and you were so sure it was going to happen this year. But, so far, the odds seem to be stacked against you.

Trust me, I thought this was going to be a good year, but three weeks past the new decade, I’m struggling not to have a mental breakdown from all of the things I have to do.

Multiple meetings at the start of the year, missing out on the people you want to spend time with, everything starts to become burdensome. And it’s only January!

All of those things you wanted to do at the start of the year, your #2024Goals? They seem to be stuck inside your closet again, way at the very back. And it seems like the dust has started to cover those goals, and it’s hiding them fast. Just like your #2023Goals and #2022Goals and so on and so forth.

But maybe, we’re looking at this all wrong. Sure, things might not be going your way right now, but since when have things been completely in our control?

In three weeks’ time, I have had one speaking engagement, two seminars, four meetings, three missed catching-up dates, and a ton of deadlines I still have to accomplish.

And you know what? It’s going to be okay.

You know why? It’s because despite me not being in control, and despite my 2024 not going my way, at least I know there is Someone who knows so much more than I do, and He’s taking my 2024 into His hands.

Sure, 2024 might have its mishaps, as early as now. But look at the good of what it has done. Maybe you were finally able to talk to your family again. Maybe it was as simple as having a new bible study meeting at the start of the year. Or. maybe it was finally being able to catch a date with your friend whom you haven’t seen for several years.

2024 might not have started out the way you wanted to. But maybe, 2024 already gave you those little desires you have always wanted to happen.

So dear you, I guess what I’m trying to say is, if your 2024 doesn’t go well, don’t give up yet. We’re still at the beginning. Trust me, the rest of the year is going to be amazing. But probably not in the way you would have imagined. Someone bigger than us is in control, and I know that He has great things in store for all of us this year. We just have to wait and see what the rest of the year lies ahead for us.

Don’t worry, you’re going to make it.

Sincerely, me.
