Here’s to the missed opportunities.

Sometimes I wonder how beautiful it is, for me to have missed my timeline. Because it led me straight to you.

Here’s to the missed opportunities. To the doors I built from the ground up, only to have it shut its doors at me, crumbling down as the opportunities I’ve tried to build for myself fall to the ground. To the what-ifs turned into thank God(s) because if I pushed through, I wouldn’t have met this whole other universe.

Here’s to the “wrong” decisions. To the windows that were shut because I chose to look at another view. To the flowers that wilted because I tended to the ones I thought would flourish. I’m thankful for a garden that unexpectedly grew, and to the view that made me appreciate looking out the window more.

Here’s to the new chapters. Chapters I never knew I’d write, and chapters I never realized I could write. With tears falling, I’m thankful for the stories that ended even when I desperately tried to push past “The End.” And a new book opened, one I never dared to write with Once Upon a Time.

Here’s to the missed timelines. The missed opportunities. The crumbled doors. The broken windows. The wilted flowers. The closed books. It led me to new universes, to an unexpected garden, a more mesmerizing view, and a story I can keep on writing.

Here’s to the missed timelines. Maybe we haven’t missed them after all. We just needed a little push, a little shove, to redirect our writing again.
